Simona Halep is set to participate in an exhibition match in Cluj-Napoca as part of the Sports Festival scheduled for June 15, as announced by event organizers. The former women's world no. 1 will team up with tennis legends Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi, alongside Andrei Pavel, for a special match during the festival, according to Euronews.
Tickets for the exhibition match are now available for purchase, ranging from RON 170 (EUR 34) to RON 245 (EUR 49), with a VIP ticket priced at RON 1,500 (EUR 302).
Halep's last official match took place in August 2022 at the US Open, where she was eliminated in the first round by Daria Snigur. Following the match, Halep faced a provisional suspension after failing an anti-doping test. Currently under a four-year ban from official tennis events, she has appealed the decision to the Court of Sports Arbitration. The crucial hearing, representing Halep's final opportunity to overturn the ban, is scheduled for early February.
