In a span of two years, 29-year-old Vo Thi Day successfully lost 11 kilograms and reduced her waist by 20 centimeters. Her achievement can be attributed to a lifestyle regimen that primarily involved a 90% plant-based diet, accompanied by consistent engagement in martial arts, resistance training, and running.

Vo Thi Day, depicted in the photo after her successful weight loss journey, stands at 1.61 meters and is currently employed in the business sector. In her youth, she enjoyed a balanced and slender physique. However, stress-induced overeating in 2014 led her weight to soar to 60 kg, accompanied by an accumulation of excess fat and a loss of body tone.

The rapid weight gain brought forth a myriad of health challenges for Day, including constant fatigue, lethargy, stomach ulcers, calcium deficiency, and low blood pressure. Faced with these issues, she became determined to revamp her lifestyle and shed the extra weight.

After conducting thorough research, Day opted for a scientifically supported healthy lifestyle approach, emphasizing a balanced diet to simultaneously reduce fat, build muscle, and ensure overall health.

Day's dietary choices were flexible, centering around meals comprising 90% plant-based ingredients and 10% protein sources and carbohydrates. She prioritized fresh vegetables, grains for carbohydrates, and proteins such as fish and eggs, while steering clear of snacks, processed foods, and sugary drinks. Although she initially grappled with hunger and sugar cravings, she soon noticed improvements in her body's lightness and digestion, reinforcing her commitment to the chosen diet.

Experts emphasize that a plant-based diet can effectively lower excess cholesterol, reduce the risks of obesity and heart disease, and benefit liver health. These foods are easier to digest, enhance the metabolic system, and individuals following a vegetarian diet often burn more calories, facilitating weight loss.

In addition to her dietary choices, Day incorporated consistent exercise into her routine, encompassing resistance training, martial arts, and running. Lagree emphasizes that this form of exercise offers various health benefits, including muscle strengthening, increased life expectancy, and overall well-being. He contends that building resistance, particularly through targeted exercises, is a fundamental aspect of healthy aging.

According to The Sun, engaging in martial arts offers several health benefits, including improved blood circulation, reduced susceptibility to illness and pain, and enhanced body resilience and flexibility. Furthermore, martial arts prove effective in calorie burning, with practitioners of taekwondo, karate, or kickboxing capable of burning 600 to 700 calories per hour, and even more at higher intensities.

Running is another efficient calorie-burning activity, supported by data from the U.S. National Weight Control Registry, indicating that individuals who successfully lose and maintain weight burn an average of 2,800 calories per week through planned exercise. This is roughly equivalent to an adult running approximately 45 kilometers per week.

Over the course of two years, Day's weight decreased to 49 kg, and her waistline slimmed from 79 cm to 59 cm, resulting in a firm, slender, and well-defined figure. To sustain her flexibility and firmness, she has incorporated yoga and resistance training into her routine while maintaining her no-meat diet.

Reflecting on her weight loss journey, Day shared, "My weight loss process has taught me about patience and not to be afraid of challenges."

She also recognized that weight loss and maintenance are continual processes, expressing her dedication to her diet and exercise routine for the sake of better health and beauty.
